# Overview

> Web-based spreadsheets for managing, visualizing, and analyzing data collaboratively online.

Use **Google Sheets** through Corsair: one client, typed API calls, local DB sync, and incoming webhooks.

**What you get:**

* 12 typed API operations
* 3 synced entities (`rows`, `sheets`, `spreadsheets`) for fast `.search()` / `.list()`
* 1 incoming webhook event types

## Setup

<Steps>
  <Step title="Install">
    <CodeGroup>
      ```bash npm theme={null}
      npm install corsair @corsair-dev/googlesheets
      ```

      ```bash yarn theme={null}
      yarn add corsair @corsair-dev/googlesheets
      ```

      ```bash pnpm theme={null}
      pnpm install corsair @corsair-dev/googlesheets
      ```

      ```bash bun theme={null}
      bun add corsair @corsair-dev/googlesheets
      ```
    </CodeGroup>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add the plugin">
    ```ts corsair.ts theme={null}
    import Database from 'better-sqlite3';
    import { createCorsair } from 'corsair';
    import { googlesheets } from '@corsair-dev/googlesheets';
    export const corsair = createCorsair({
    	plugins: [
    		googlesheets(),
    	],
    	database: new Database('corsair.db'),
    	kek: process.env.CORSAIR_KEK!,
    	hub: {
    		projectApiKey: process.env.CORSAIR_API_KEY!,
    		signingSecret: process.env.CORSAIR_SIGNING_SECRET!,
    	},
    });
    ```

    Multi-tenancy is the default — scope calls with `corsair.withTenant(id)`. See [Quick start](/quick-start) for KEK + Hub keys, and [Multi-tenancy](/concepts/multi-tenancy) for account isolation.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose authentication">
    <Tabs>
      <Tab title="OAuth 2.0 (Recommended)">
        Open [hub.corsair.dev](https://hub.corsair.dev/dashboard), navigate to your project, and enter the **client ID** and **client secret** from your Google Sheets OAuth app.

        Provider walkthrough: [Get Credentials](/plugins/googlesheets/get-credentials).

        ```ts theme={null}
        googlesheets()
        ```

        More: [OAuth 2.0](/concepts/oauth)
      </Tab>
    </Tabs>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect a tenant">
    Mint a connect link and send the tenant to it. Hub hosts the page and delivers the result to your app — see [Connect / OAuth](/management/connect).

    ```ts theme={null}
    const { connectUrl } = await corsair.manage.connect.createLink({
    	plugin: 'googlesheets',
    	tenantId: 'acme',
    });
    // redirect the user's browser to connectUrl
    ```
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Example API calls

**Get rows**

```ts theme={null}
const tenant = corsair.withTenant('acme');
await tenant.googlesheets.api.sheets.getRows({ spreadsheetId: '1BxiMVs0XRA5nFMdKvBdBZjgmUUqptlbs74OgvE2upms', sheetName: 'Class Data' });
```

**Append a row**

```ts theme={null}
const tenant = corsair.withTenant('acme');
await tenant.googlesheets.api.sheets.appendRow({
	spreadsheetId: '1BxiMVs0XRA5nFMdKvBdBZjgmUUqptlbs74OgvE2upms',
	sheetName: 'Class Data',
	values: ['Hello', 'from Corsair'],
});
```

See the full list on the [API](/plugins/googlesheets/api) page.

## Query synced data

Search synced rows without hitting Sheets.

```ts theme={null}
const tenant = corsair.withTenant('acme');
const rows = await tenant.googlesheets.db.rows.search({
	data: { spreadsheetId: '1BxiMVs0XRA5nFMdKvBdBZjgmUUqptlbs74OgvE2upms' },
	limit: 50,
});
```

Synced entities: `rows`, `sheets`, `spreadsheets`. See [Database](/plugins/googlesheets/database) for filters and operators.

## Webhooks

Fires when a range of cells is updated.

```ts theme={null}
googlesheets({
    webhookHooks: {
        rangeUpdated: {
            after: async (ctx, result) => {
                console.log('Sheet range updated:', result.data?.spreadsheetId, result.data?.sheetName, result.data?.range);
            }
        },
    },
})
```

Mount your framework handler once (see [Frameworks](/frameworks/next)), then point the provider at that URL. Full event list: [Webhooks](/plugins/googlesheets/webhooks). Concepts: [Webhooks](/concepts/webhooks), [Hooks](/concepts/hooks).
